About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join our team as a Learning Assistance Teacher. As a key member of our school district, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a wide range of learning and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and administer assessments, maintaining detailed records
  • Provide direct and indirect service within classrooms
  • Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and support staff to develop individualized plans
  • Design and implement inclusive learning opportunities that cater to diverse needs and interests
  • Utilize technology for communication, planning, instruction, and reporting purposes
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or post-graduate diploma in Special Education or Inclusive Education
  • British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Experience in differentiating instruction and providing inclusive learning opportunities
  • Ability to use technology for communication, planning, and instruction
  • Training and/or experience in administering assessments and collecting data
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training and/or experience as a Learning Assistance teacher
  • Ability to administer assessments such as Woodcock Johnson, Key Math, Jerry Johns, WISC
  • Experience using PM Benchmarks, Read Naturally, Kurzweil, Touch Math, and Trevor Caulkin's Power of 10 Math
  • Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices (e.g., differentiated instruction, criterion-referenced grading, Assessment for Learning)
Compensation

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, based on length of service and qualifications.
