NMI is looking for a Product Owner II to join our Billing product engineering team.

The Billing team is responsible for the development of a suite of billing micro services serving the various needs of our member companies and global finance teams.

This role will require the development of new systems, the maintenance of existing legacy systems, and the coordination of migration between the two.


As Product Owner, you will manage the execution of NMI's strategy and roadmap, while facilitating backlog grooming, prioritization, triage and other development ceremonies.

Our Product Owners also take an active role in product launches, ensuring internal stakeholders are trained on the latest product capabilities.

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and attention to detail, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

You must enjoy spending time learning the product and understanding its users in order to make the best design decisions for our clients.


A background in the development of accounting or billing systems is strongly preferred.

Requirements:

  • Prioritize the product backlog and coordinate with stakeholders including the Product Manager, customer facing teams,
  • Develop an understanding of the target market and user base; Uses this to guide product decisions
  • Develop epics and user stories for all new functionality, present user stories to product teams and ensure new functionality meets the acceptance criteria
  • Partner with stakeholders to help define Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that delivers incremental value; Ensure MVP aligns with product vision and NMI's strategic goals
  • Work with development team, Product Manager and other Product Owners to do release planning
  • Write detailed release notes and provides product training to internal teams
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure new products and functionality work as expected
  • Work with other Product Owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across teams
  • Ensure the conceptual and functional integrity of new features or components.
  • Develop the voice of customer information through customer interviews.

Typical Experience

  • At least 13 years of product owner experience or similar/equivalent.
  • Ability to take business requirements and translate them into detailed product specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, business and technical team members across the organization
