Black & McDonald's Saskatchewan Service team is expanding. If you are a dedicated and team-oriented professional seeking to make a valuable contribution to a dynamic and hardworking team, then this opportunity is tailored for you.
As the Building Operator reporting to the Service Supervisor, your primary role will involve completing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks promptly to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the building. This position will also involve overseeing and inspecting the work of subcontractors and service providers, while adhering to Black & McDonald's codes of conduct, health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as any customer-specific protocols.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responding to environmental/comfort complaints
- Performing shift tours and logging readings
- Conducting start-up/shut down and preventive maintenance on major building equipment
- Executing diesel, fire alarm, and life safety tests
- Completing tasks such as filter and belt changing as well as minor repairs
- Managing supply inventory and overseeing work done by sub-trades
- Handling general building maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and minor repairs
- Utilizing the BAS system
- And other duties as required by the client and Black & McDonald

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 2-4 years' experience in a technical role related to HVAC services and equipment
- Experience with Building Automation Controls
- Preferably holds a 5th Class Power Engineer with Fireman's Certificate
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills, aiming to exceed expectations
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
- Capable of working at various heights and lifting up to 30 kg
- Able to work in confined spaces and be available for On-Call work
- Must pass Federal Government Security Clearance
- Requires a clean driver's abstract
