THE ROLE


Your role as the Cruises and Alaska Land Coordinator, is to ensure APT's and Travelmarvel's cruises and cruise-tours are delivered according to agreed customer service targets and customer expectations and in the most efficient way.


Your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the contracting and cost analysis of transportation and meet & greet suppliers
  • Issue all transfer manifests from our reservation system and process ad hoc bookings
  • Probe and correct missing/incorrect information
  • Book and confirm all transportation and meet & greet services according to timelines and budgets
  • Reconcile invoices from transportation and meet & greet suppliers
  • Monitor performance and develop relationships with vendors
  • Supervise on site operations on disembarkation days at Vancouver Cruise Ship Terminal
  • Update Cruise Calendar with guest numbers by running reports at least bimonthly
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with HAL and Alaska Land suppliers via regular communications
  • Assist other team members in the office when needed so all tasks are completed on time and efficiently

ABOUT YOU

  • Highly organised, detail oriented and with exceptional problemsolving/analytical skills
  • Able to communicate professionally with people of all ages and all backgrounds
  • Capable of multitasking, working under pressure and in a fastpaced, changing environment and making decisions on own and on the spot with little/no input from management
  • Able to work independently and to be part of a team
  • Excellent computer skills, in particular Word, Excel, Outlook

Additionally:

  • Knowledge/Experience of the Travel Industry and systems an asset.
  • Knowledge of tourist destinations in Canada and Alaska and North America an asset.
  • Experience working on cruise ships, and/or living/working in Alaska an asset.
  • Experience dealing with customers from Australia, New Zealand and the UK, an asset

NB:

Due to the cruise schedule this position will require working Tuesday to Saturday during the season (May to September).

Overtime and other week-end work might be required on occasion and will be offset by flexible/in lieu hours in other weeks.

All overtime must be pre-approved by the Director of Operations.
