About us


Ceres Terminals Canada is the terminal manager for Canada's largest cruise port at Canada Place and provides stevedoring services for NYK RoRo.

Ceres Terminals has a long history in professional marine terminal operations and stevedoring beginning in 1958.

Over the years Ceres has expanded with operations in Canada, the US East, South Atlantic and Gulf coasts along with the US West Coast.

Ceres now has a diversified portfolio throughout North America including managing world class terminals in cruise, containers, RORO, breakbulk, bulk and project cargos.


Supervisor, Access Control

Vancouver, BC


The Supervisor, Access Control is a key team member responsible the management of the overall access control programs, records and reporting along with access control processes throughout the cruise terminal for guests and staff.

Canada Place cruise terminal facilitates the movement of over 1.2 million passengers and over 300 cruise vessels in one of the top cruise ports in the world.

We're looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment with strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for delivering a superior operational experience to clients and our cruise partners.


Your Varied Day includes the Following:

  • Supervise the seasonal Port Pass Assistants and full time Coordinator, ensuring the port pass issuance is compliant with the Port Pass standards set forth by VFPA (Vancouver Fraser Port Authority).
  • Overseeing and ensure the tracking of the Ceres ACO training program.
  • Schedule personnel according to seasonal needs.
  • Provide regular reporting on required audits to ensure compliance with VFPA Port Pass Operating Procedures
  • Review the updates of the Control Room Standard Operating Procedures and ensure staff working in the Control room have the required training, equipment and processes to fulfill their role
  • Ensure the required records for Transport Canada Audits are maintained by the coordinator and seasonal assistant staff
  • Review security and screening invoices for accuracy and follow up with contractor when required.
  • Preparing capital budgets for access control equipment including screening equipment
  • Responsible for the billing for port passes and augmented security services such as gangway guards or escorts as required to access the terminal or vessels as requested by cruise lines
  • Innovative in using technology and strategies to improve processes
  • Has demonstrated leadership skills within an unionized environment
  • An ability to develop strong partnerships with clients, regulatory and terminal partners
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and provide direction to individuals and/or groups.
  • Strong computer skills for programs such as Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud and social media apps and the ability to leverage security programs and internal reporting systems
  • Superior organizational, time management and problem resolution skills.
  • Able to direct safe work practices and identify and facilitate operational training.
  • Ability to do weekend work is also required as Cruise operations is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week requirement.

Salary:
$36.00-$40.00 per hour
