Production Assistant


Join our small and dynamic production team at Straga Products, a premium hardwood product manufacturer and omni-channel eCommerce retailer based in Toronto, Canada.

We pride ourselves in making and distributing luxury premium hardwood products with customized features and designs to individual customers and corporate clients all over North America.


Schedule:
8am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Safe setup and operation of the woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, belt sanders, and shapers, with occasional use of hand tools to shape and form parts and components
  • Select and adjust cutting, milling, boring, and sanding equipment and tools for proper completion of the job
  • Prepare and sand wooden surfaces
  • Operating engraving machines and other production machines as trained
  • Prepping/printing shipping labels and other shipping related documents
  • Sort parts and products according to predefined standards
  • Check product dimensions against given production standards
  • Transport raw materials and finished products to the various stations through the workshop manually or by using automatic lifting equipment
  • Clean and maintain your station as well as woodworking equipment/shop tools
  • Assist with other stages of production of production as needed
  • Prepping materials and supplies for various stages of production.
  • Assisting to keep inventory at different stages of production
  • Other production duties as assigned by Production Supervisor or Team Lead

Personal Characteristics:

  • Good eyesight to look for surface imperfections
  • Good handeye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Must be detailoriented and comfortable working in a busy environment safely

Qualifications:

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Strong work ethics and positive team attitude
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Able to communicate effectively in English
  • Any relevant experience is an asset

Salary:
$18.00 per hour
