About the Role

The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for the entire product development cycle, from initial research and feasibility to tooling, packaging, and product release. We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating innovative products and has a strong understanding of plastic materials, manufacturing processes, and design for injection molding.

Responsibilities
  • Research the current outdoor accessories and decor market to identify trends and opportunities
  • Create design concepts and product ideation
  • Develop 3D drawings while considering limitations such as size, price, and injection molding capabilities
  • Participate in product refinement and testing
  • Submit RFQs to tooling manufacturers for new product tooling
  • Assist in the management of tooling manufacturing with third-party tool makers
  • Liaise with the content team to ensure accurate and timely product content
  • Communicate and work with local and overseas manufacturers and tool makers
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in plastic product design and development
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Fusion
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, manufacturing processes, and design for injection molding
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
