Reporting to the Program Supervisor, the RECE Program Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the day to day ongoing operation of the childcare centre for children 3 months to 5 years of age.

The Program Assistant Supervisorr also provides administrative support to the Program Supervisor and day to day program activity.

This position will be at our Lincoln Manor centre, to start and then potential move to our new Centre. In this role, you will be scheduled for full-time hours (including programming and administrative time).

Requirements:

  • Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum 2years ECE experience prefered and would be an asset, but not required.
  • Experience in program planning and implementation for Infant, Toddler and Preschool aged children would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and the Ministry of Education Licensing Compliance criteria
  • Be a registered member in good standing with College of ECE's
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C (including infants)
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up to date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR
  • Valid Food Handler's certification preferred, but not required.

The RECE Program Assistant Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the operation of the child care centre to which he/she had been assigned, including administration, program planning and implementation, in conjunction with other staff members.


  • Should be able to display strong communication skills, kind and gentle when interacting with children and use creative ways when engaged with children.
  • Establish goals, plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate experiences to enhance children's cognitive, physical, social and emotional development in accordance with Ministry of Education's How Does Learning Happen while adhering to our Program Statement.
  • Supervising children in your care at all times
  • Organize indoor and outdoor play areas, space, equipment, and materials to create a warm and welcoming environment
  • Conduct daily checks on each child as per Ministry requirements, complete documentation and notify the General Manager of any unusual circumstances
  • Maintain a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a highquality child care program can operate, and maintain professional relationships with members of ECCDC and Niagara Region Children Service.
  • Work to provide ageappropriate developmental activities to enhance the individual and group's cognitive, physical, social, cultural and emotional development
