EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma in a Construction / Engineering related field
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in AutoCad (or equiv. Drafting Software) is required.
  • Basic knowledge of surveying for construction layout and setting grades.
  • Able to work alone and / or as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of construction equipment and materials
  • Basic knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
  • Experience in the construction industry considered an asset.
  • Willingness to learn, highly motivated, reliability & honesty.
  • Valid G-License with clean driving abstract
  • Bilingual in both English and French is an asset.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

OFFICE WORK:

  • DRAWINGS:
  • Prepare site plans in CAD for the project teams.
  • Prepare, review and modify construction drawings.
  • PROJECT EXECUTION
  • Perform material takeoffs / assist Project Managers with estimates.
  • Tag Team with Project Managers to fully understand project requirements and specs
  • Administer and manage project locates.
  • HEALTH & SAFETY
  • After receiving appropriate Training, you will become the Company's HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER.
  • Insure our employees have all required Safety Training & periodic refresher courses.

FIELD WORK:

  • Conduct field surveys and operate survey equipment.
  • Layout out foundations using surveying equipment.
  • Accurately record, organize, and store survey measurements, deviations from plan and any other pertinent information as required by the project team
  • Field inspections, as required, to assist Project Managers
  • Field inspections, to audit our Field Staff's Safety Practices

From $28.00 per hour
