Your RoleWe are in search of Project Managers eager to advance their expertise in the municipal and developmental infrastructure services sector within our Northern Canada Business Unit.
You will leverage your experience in managing projects of varying complexity, particularly in the execution of municipal infrastructure initiatives, including water supply and distribution, storm and wastewater management, road construction, bridge development, and enhancements to existing facilities or new construction across diverse building types. Your reputation as a trusted advisor has enabled you to cultivate strong, enduring relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership:
- Exemplify company values and cultural principles
- Guide the development of Assistant Project Managers on your assignments
- Delegate responsibilities and empower Assistant Project Managers
- Establish a personal brand
Growth:
- Enhance sales within existing accounts
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling within managed accounts
- Increase your Fee Income Managed on projects
Management:
- Oversee project delivery teams to ensure quality standards are met
- Manage the implementation of the work breakdown structure
- Address project delivery and commercial/financial issues with the Project Lead
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all project work adheres to our Quality Management System
- Maintain Client Satisfaction as a priority
- A university degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related technical field (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, representing owners in the execution of linear infrastructure (water supply/storage/distribution, storm/wastewater), roads, bridges, and building development (renovations, new construction) or similar projects
- Experience in delivering projects for municipalities or in Northern climates is advantageous
- Comprehensive understanding of the engineering design process, value engineering, and necessary approvals for construction and project closeout in a municipal or public sector context
- Proven capability to lead projects and teams in delivering infrastructure
- Strong grasp of best practice Project Management methodologies and procedures within a PMO environment
- Effective client and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and resolve various client and technical issues
- Experience managing relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations and funding agencies, is beneficial
- Detail-oriented leader capable of thriving in a process-driven environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Proficient in computer applications, including scheduling (MS Project), word processing (MS Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software
- Willingness to travel occasionally to Northern Canada as project requirements dictate
- PMP designation is a plus
