We are looking for a dedicated Product Owner to drive our digital banking transformation. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to convert business and customer needs into cutting-edge digital banking solutions. Utilize your technical expertise to lead product development in line with our digital strategy and customer requirements. As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in realizing Value Stream objectives by aligning business goals with tangible outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap to the squad, stakeholders, and technology partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with squads and FinTech partners to ensure timely delivery of product features and enhancements.
  • Lead PI Planning activities to ensure prioritized features are refined for successful implementation.
  • Utilize your deep technology background to guide squad members in leveraging technology for creative problem-solving.
  • Possess a solid understanding of relevant technologies like APIs, front-end applications, and vendor integrations for effective decision-making.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Define and monitor key product metrics and KPIs to gauge product success and areas for enhancement.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to align with the product vision and business objectives.
  • Engage with team members to gather feedback and ensure alignment on product priorities and direction.
  • Identify trade-offs to ensure alignment on priorities between the team and partners.
  • Lead product demonstrations, collect feedback, and iterate on product features and functionality.

Backlog Management

  • Lead the squad in ensuring value creation by managing the squad backlog and implementing high-value work items.
  • Define hypotheses, conduct experiments, and analyze data to influence user story decisions.
  • Develop and groom the backlog to ensure clarity and understanding among all squad members.
  • Incorporate feedback from demos, interviews, user research, and engineering into the squad backlog.
  • Validate completed user stories to meet the definition of done.

Squad Alignment & Communication

  • Provide strategic team leadership to deliver business outcome-focused work.
  • Empower the team to drive improvements and foster strong relationships with team members.
  • Effectively communicate priorities to the team and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships.
  • Encourage innovation within the team to stay ahead of market trends.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
  • 5+ years of experience in the digital banking industry.
  • Strong knowledge of digital banking platforms, FinTech solutions, and mobile/web banking apps.
  • Degree in computer science, information technology, or business.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, preferably in SAFe.
  • Experience using JIRA and Confluence.

The annual salary range for the role is between $92,190.00 CAD - $171,210.00 CAD. For applicants outside the primary location, please inquire about the specific salary range. Additional benefits include health coverage, career development programs, and retirement savings plans.
