We are looking to add a Technical Platform Owner to our Individual Insurance IT team.

As a Technical Platform Owner (TPO), you will lead the technical vision to deliver best-in-class experiences when, where and how clients/advisors interact with us.


What you will be doing:

  • Sets technical platform vision and roadmap for owned assets to support and enhance business outcomes
  • Own the integrated Platform roadmap and deliver milestones by working closely with business, engineering, and operations teams
  • Monitor, steward and advance the technical health and performance of owned assets and platform
  • Works with architects to develops the technology capability roadmap of owned assets and platform
  • Manage total cost of ownership of the product platform
  • Manage the lifecycle of vendor platforms and overall vendor relationships
  • Influences roadmap development of the assets owned by other TPO's where dependencies exist
  • Enable and guide team to deliver high quality solutions
  • Identify, document, continuously improve, and implement endtoend software development and delivery processes
  • Accountable to uphold technical standards, guidelines, and principles focused on security, reliability, supportability and quality
  • Own the platform technology KPIs and prioritization
  • Monitor the health and resilience of our production environments, including but not limited to cycle time of release, reduce defects released into production, mean time of recovery for incidents, mean time to initiate failsafe switches and overall client satisfaction of handling their incidents
  • Improve incident handling to decrease our cycle time to close productiondown incidents (e.g. outages, unable to login, unable to access screen, batch fails), and highpriority incidents around security and privacy
  • Tighten audits and controls for releases and ensure learning moments are shared out to teams for continuous improvement of release
  • Develop and plan for infrastructure changes and coordinate with product owners for limiting disruption within their backlogs and ability to maximize value, as well as, maintaining planned volumes to ensure scaling and finetuning as required
  • Establish production performance dashboards for our assets to help inform and prioritize our backlogs
  • Help our Data team rollout data owner and stewardship for Individual Insurance to keep eye of our data integrity, including an aim of 'no zaps' to our systems
  • Manages a set of delivery team(s) and is responsible for the team's talent through performance feedback, (re)skilling, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance reviews and human resource requirements
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and morale
  • Other duties as required

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years production support management experience; ITIL certification
  • 5+ years in a team leadership/management role in solutions design and development
  • 7+ years hands on enterprise class software solution design and development
  • University degree or equivalent technical education
  • Excellent knowledge of code management, build and release and quality practices
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the capability to break down complex enterprise needs spanning multiple assets into multiphased, implementable solution plans
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
  • Ability to define multiple solution options to business problems
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Ability to articulate the effect of technology on business
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities concurrently
