PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS OFFICER:
The Public, Legal and Corporate Affairs Branch is looking for a Public and Community Relations Officer for an indeterminate position.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Manager, Public Consultations, the Public and Community Relations Officer coordinates diverse public relations related activities, including community relations, and public consultations.
The individual supports the delivery of public events for the NCC and builds relationships with community members and stakeholder groups on a variety of topics and projects.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized university in Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, or a combination of education and related work experience.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the following areas:
- Preparing public engagement plans and writing reports and summaries of public feedback.
- Assisting in the preparation, organization and promotion of public engagement activities.
- Liaising with community associations and stakeholder groups on a variety of topics.
- Planning public consultations, community meetings or events.
KNOWLEDGE
- Best practices used for public consultations, such as the IAP2 engagement spectrum.
- Government policies and regulations related to public engagement.
- Advanced proficiency in MS office.
ABILITIES
- To establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Liaise with internal and external clients.
- To communicate effectively orally and in writing in both official languages.
