Estimating Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Download tender documentation for review by estimating team.
  • Create bid files electronically in our computer program and physically in the filing system.
  • Chair weekly estimating meetings
  • Coordinate and organize prebid meeting and site visits as required.
  • Solicit and collect quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Advise assigned estimators of frontend requirements included in the tender documents.
  • Request any additional details from clients that are missing from the tender package.
  • Maintain up to date database and tracking systems.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed tender documents and submit them in timely manner.
  • Follow up with clients to gain key information and feedback regarding recently submitted bids.
  • Communicate notice of bid statuses back to clients based on internal bidding direction.
  • Maintain systems and procedures in relation to estimating.
  • Uphold a thorough understanding of industry trends and regulations to effectively contribute to the estimating process.
  • Perform general administrative and recordkeeping functions as required.

What you'll bring to the table

  • College diploma in Estimating, Civil Engineering Tech or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
  • Strong document management skills, with the ability to organize and maintain accurate records.
  • Bilingual proficiency, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and in French
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional time management multitasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex information.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, including familiarity with construction methods, materials, and terminology is an asset.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and other relevant tools is an asset.
