Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Ottawa team. As an Estimator, you will play a key role in analyzing costs and preparing work take-offs and estimates for construction projects. You will provide support to project operations with emphasis on estimating, reporting, and monitoring progress and handling project changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Cost Analysis: Prepare estimates of cost of materials, labour, and equipment for construction projects based on contract drawings/specifications, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects regarding tenders.
  • Site Review and Tendering: Participate in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, project closing, and operational/sector meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Supplier and Contractor Management: Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Material and Equipment Purchasing: Conduct material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs.
  • Estimating Database Management: Update and maintain estimating database.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Engineering or Business/Commerce.
  • Experience: 1-3 years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).
