**Role**:
This position provides research, analytical and policy support for the Francophone Secretariat. This includes issues identification, analysis, option identification, consultation, evaluation, and preparation of documentation required for decision-making.

You will support the development and implementation of cross-ministry policy initiatives by:

- Proactively researching and analyzing the impact of strategic policy initiatives, options and recommendations, and other initiatives related to the Francophonie in Alberta.
- Supporting the development and implementation of cross-ministry policy initiatives including the development of guidelines, mechanisms and internal structures to support the ministry and its cross-ministry partners related to government services, programs and resources in French;
- Collecting, compiling, reviewing and analyzing relevant literature, data and emerging trends.
- Advising and proposing approaches to increase the strategic use of federal funding to develop and formalize the delivery of services in French across the Government or Alberta.
- Developing briefing notes, policy papers, position papers and decision documents.
- Providing advice to senior Francophone Secretariat staff, other program areas and ministries on the framing and routing of policy proposals.
- **Drive for Results** - Project management and policy development are key responsibilities of this role. This requires excellent time management abilities, as well as a focus on results and service delivery.
- **Build Collaborative Environments** - This position will be responsible to communicate with several different stakeholders from different divisions, ministries or jurisdictions. Effective communication skills are critical in diplomatically managing relationships to bring differing perspectives together.
