Reporting to the Vice President of Talent, the Manager, Learning & Development is responsible for the complete learning agenda for our team. The role involves developing and implementing learning initiatives for executive development, managers, and individual contributors through various channels (Residential, Hybrid, Digital). The ideal candidate will contribute to creating a learning organization focused on skills development, scalable programs, and promoting continuous learning within the work environment. Additionally, the Manager oversees the planning, execution, and assessment of MLF's Leadership programs and functional development initiatives.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Support the VP, Talent in designing and implementing the organization's learning strategy.
- Create an annual program calendar and manage tasks to ensure timely and quality program delivery.
- Supervise the training of new hires, leaders, and talent groups to equip team members with essential knowledge and skills for success.
- Conduct learning needs assessments for various groups and translate them into suitable learning programs.
- Collaborate with HRBP Team, Business Leaders, and HR members to develop high-quality learning solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Design and implement training curriculum.
- Enhance employee access and engagement with existing learning resources.
- Optimize program effectiveness and provide a high-quality learning experience for participants.
- Liaise with VP, Talent, third-party vendors, and external institutions to develop top-notch learning offerings for Maple Leaf.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing among different learning groups.
- Stay updated on talent research and industry trends to enhance learning programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Post secondary education in HR, Learning or equivalent experience
- Experience in corporate learning and adult pedagogy
- Ability to build strong relationships across all organizational levels and plant leadership network
- Highly motivated and results-driven
- Self-confident, with the ability to work independently and seek support when needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in a fast-paced business environment
