**Description: - Permanent Full Time- We are looking for a
Manager Reporting & Planning to join our Technology Strategy, Portfolio Management & Governance team as part of Office of the CIO for Canada Life. The Technology Strategy, Portfolio Management & Governance team as part of Office of the CIO is focused on technology strategy development and planning, reporting and strategy execution for Canada Life's Technology organisation. The team partners with the technology leaders to develop the go-forward strategy and takes an integrated view of strategic portfolios to assess capabilities and organizational readiness. The team also manages the annual initiatives planning process and long-term strategy development. Collaborating with leaders across Technology, the team helps solve critical issues providing a central perspective on cross-cutting themes. It also partners closely with Lifeco's Office of the CIO team to ensure alignment between the Canadian strategy and the global Lifeco strategy.- Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Planning, this role will help the Canada Technology Strategy team solve key challenges and problems, specifically focused on developing, evolving and managing programs for measurement of Technology performance, and enhancing our reporting. This role has broad scope, with opportunity to work with different technology teams in Canada and Globally.
What you will do

  • Play a leadership role in evolving our Digital Technology reporting and scorecard to measure success against our strategic priorities, and regular measurements and reporting against these targets
  • Collaborate with executive teams to determine the key technology performance measurements and metrics that support achievement of outcomes and improved decision making.
  • Develop and evolve executive dashboards and insights, reporting on Digital Technology performance results and value delivered
  • Influence technology staff to utilize metrics and reports to improve technology performance, including Continuous Improvement reporting and processes.
  • Communicate with research organizations on technology performance management and measurement best practices
  • Ensure technology performance reporting effectively incorporates all functions supporting Digital Technology, providing consistent processes, methods and tools for measurement and reporting
  • Lead the team responsible for developing our monthly and quarterly CIO reports, providing support to various technology teams for reporting and creating PowerBI and ServiceNow dashboards
  • Support reporting requests from our regulators such as OSFI on progress in various technology areas
  • Provide reporting & information support to the annual initiatives planning process and quarterly interlock sessions with various Business unit tech portfolio leads
  • Identify and advocate for opportunities (systems, tools, processes) to enhance support effectiveness
  • Develop, build, and deliver wellstructured, persuasive, visual presentation materials for senior audiences through storytelling that converts analysis into compelling insights
  • Manage and provide support on select projects and initiatives, engaging partners and teams in workshops and working sessions while leveraging roadmaps, KPIs, results measures and organizational goals / objectives to problem solve and align plans across Canada
  • Conduct financial analysis including development of financial models to support strategies to understand opportunity economics and challenges
  • Provide support to other mandates for the Strategy & Planning team such as cost optimisation, initiative funding reviews and dashboards / reports to drive our workforce strategy

What you will bring

  • Experience in creating reporting and dashboards for senior leadership with a focus on technology
  • Highly proficient analytical skills, including financial analysis and research, with the ability to organize results and recommendations clearly
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with proven abilities to collaborate with employees across the organization and build strong relationships
  • Proficient use of tools like Power BI, PowerPoint and Excel (working knowledge of Thinkcell and Macros will be an asset)
  • Ability to foster (by example and coaching) an environment that encourages new approaches, challenges the status quo and inspires creativity
  • Prior work experience demonstrating strong leadership, focus on operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness, and ability to establish and champion best practices
  • Understanding of different project management methodologies (PMP and Agile Training are considered strong assets)
  • University degree in a relevant discipline such as business, finance, engineering or other specialized degree
