Manager of Financial Reporting - Job Profile

Overview:


iAnthus (a publicly traded, multi-state cannabis operator) is seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to join our corporate finance team in Toronto.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, this individual will lead a team of two direct reports.

The Manager of Financial Reporting will help prepare and review financial consolidations, Form 10-Q/K's including the MD&A, manage quarterly reviews and audits, and will draft complex technical accounting research and accounting treatment recommendations as well as be responsible for improving current financial statement and management report disclosures.

This role is hybrid (team is currently 2 days in office in downtown Toronto and 3 days work-from-home).

Core Job Duties

  • Help oversee the preparation of the company's public reviewed/audited financial reporting filings, including annual, quarterly, SEC/SEDAR filings, and statutory reports. Must conduct detailed review of all filings to ensure compliance while continuously improving current disclosures.
  • Manage the quarterly reviews and audit process with the external audit team and other key stakeholders.
  • Review of complex accounting schedules (i.e. biological asset/inventory valuation, sharebased compensation, debt and equity instruments).
  • Support project management of and assist in the financial due diligence process, including review of financial documents and preparation and/or review of financial analysis for potential acquisitions, as needed.
  • Take a leadership role in the above functions, providing guidance and mentoring to the financial reporting team.
  • Lead and participate in special projects as necessary (i.e. potential M&A activity).

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, Finance or Businessrelated field (Master's preferred)
  • 45+ years accounting experience (combination of public company reporting, public accounting, or technical accounting preferred)
  • CPA required
  • Strong US GAAP experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with SEC filings and Sarbanes Oxley and COSO framework an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and consistent follow through on assigned tasks
  • Experience with financial accounting systems (i.e. Sage X3) a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office required
  • Enjoys working in a startup, fastpaced environment
  • Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner
