The Payroll and HR Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll and benefits processes, while providing essential support to the HR function across various stages of the employee lifecycle.

You must be proactive, have a meticulous attention to detail, and effectively communicate with employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR-related matters.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the biweekly payroll process, including reviewing and validating pay related employee changes, and ensuring accuracy in data.
  • Review and audit Time & Attendance and Time Away from Work processes and entries.
  • Verify payroll data, review pay entries and adjustments, and promptly address pay or benefits related discrepancies or issues.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate employee change records in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity.
  • Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollments/terminations, deductions and contributions, changes, and communication with benefits providers.
  • Facilitate the administration of internal people processes, including preparation of letters, employment verifications, internal control forms, etc. to support hiring, job changes and exits.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, annual reporting requirements including running ad hoc reports and analyzing data as required.
  • Support/lead various HR and Payroll projects and initiatives.
  • Other administrative support as required.

Skills, Experience and Education Required:

  • Proven experience in payroll and HR support.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce considered an asset)
  • Basic understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Curiosity and learning agility to grow within the role.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A collaborative approach to working within a team.
  • High level of integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and highly sensitive information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Driver's license with access to a vehicle.
  • This is primarily an onsite role with some hybrid flexibility
