Clinical Assistant

Primary Duties:
- Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations
- Be involved with procedures (flexible cystoscopy, penile injections, catheter insertion, and assist in the operating room for Men's Health procedures
- Conferring with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care
- Initiating, documenting and communicating the plan of care and following up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients
- Completing dictations and triaging consults
- Ordering interpreting diagnostic tests and following up on diagnostic tests
- Informing patients of postdischarge care instructions and providing patient education as appropriate
- Research opportunities available
Education and Experience:
- Must be eligible for registration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
- Criminal Background Check required
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organization skills and the ability to work efficiently to prioritize competing tasks in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, make decisions and take initiative within scope of practice
- Superior work ethic, professionalism and reliability
- Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding service to patients and families
- Superior written/oral communication skills and ability to effectively convey factual information and detailed explanations
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
