Clinical Assistant

**Job Summary**
The Unit Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the clinical team at St. Boniface Hospital. As a key member of the healthcare team, this individual is responsible for providing administrative and patient-related support to ensure the smooth operation of the unit.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide clerical support to the clinical team, including scheduling appointments and consultations, preparing examining rooms, and assisting patients.
- Assist with preparing charts, processing physicians' orders, and ordering supplies.
- Perform receptionist duties, including answering phone calls and responding to inquiries.
- Assist in the Records Area, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
- Support the clinical team in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
**Requirements**
- 6 months of experience in a nursing unit.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the St. Boniface Hospital Ward Clerk Training Program.
- Knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn new software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to assist patients in wheelchairs.
