Clinic Assistant

Seeking a highly motivated Clinic Assistant to provide administrative support to the Community IV Program (Home Care) in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is a leading provider of health care services in the region. Our team is united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.
The Clinic Assistant will act as a receptionist for clients and service providers, manage appointments and schedules, participate in client care functions, maintain client charts and databases, and perform a variety of clerical support functions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Community IV Program (Home Care)
- Act as a receptionist for clients and service providers
- Manage appointments and schedules
- Participate in client care functions
- Maintain client charts and databases
- Perform a variety of clerical support functions
- Minimum of two years related healthcare experience
- Data entry experience
- Experience in email and computerized calendars
- Experience with mail distribution, photocopying and faxing
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience maintaining medical records and filing systems
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards
- Successful completion of a Unit Clerk Course and/or a Medical Office Assistant Course
- Basic Cardiac Life Saving Certificate preferred
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training preferred
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Excellent communication skills with switchboard/receptionist experience
- Experience in a community health care office
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written)
- Ability to effectively work as a team member
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to plan and organize a heavy workload, under pressure, to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Keyboarding speed of 40 wpm
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to do moderate lifting and a moderate amount of walking
