**Payroll & Human Resources Officer
Permanent Full-time, 35 hours per week

Summary:

The Payroll & Human Resources Officer, under the direction of the Manager of Finance and Payroll Services,

will be responsible to process payroll in an accurate and timely manner. This position will monitor internal

controls to ensure that finance activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company

policies and procedures. This role will also compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, benefits,

and other deductions. The Payroll & Human Resources Officer must possess knowledge of tax laws, payroll

laws and reporting requirements and meticulous records maintenance skills.

Furthermore, this position entails creating offers of employment and various letters such as transfers,
processed in a timely manner, participate in the creation and updating of job descriptions, assist in developing
and maintaining policy and procedures relating to payroll & HR, keep personnel files up-to-date & ensure
training compliance, act as a first point of contact and provide general information to staff relating to their
questions or concerns.

Qualifications:

Degree or diploma in administration, business, or a related field.

A payroll certification (PCP or CPM) is an asset.

Minimum of two-year payroll/HR experience.

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Written and verbal proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is an asset.

Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, payroll/tax laws, and reporting requirements

Meticulous records maintenance skills

Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices

Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

Clean criminal record check

Ability to adapt to new technology

Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands

Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment

Ability to work individually as well as part of a team

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
