We are seeking a Senior Contracts Specialist to negotiate, draft, and maintain contracts for high-value industrial equipment with customers and suppliers. The position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will work alongside Executive, Business Development, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management teams. The position will also work with various teams to support international procurement of complex components, as well as help streamline our supply chain processes.

The ideal candidate will have: a degree in a technical or relevant discipline; proficiency with contracts negotiation and administration in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting; excellent communication skills; and impeccable attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review contract terms and conditions. Recommend and draft contract language and special terms and conditions as required.
  • Prepare and issue contracts for execution.
  • Implement best practices for contract structuring, administration, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with customers and suppliers to manage risk and help achieve optimal outcomes for cost/scope/schedule, while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Prepare customer RFPs/RFQs and supplier purchase order packages for high-value industrial equipment.
  • Work with internal leadership to identify opportunities and implement strategies for continuously improving our supply chain efficiency, supplier terms/pricing, and customer project delivery.
  • Streamline practices and processes for contract administration and version control.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract structuring and risk management.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in contracts administration within an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting – specifically in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating terms and conditions.
  • Contracts/legal related training, including best practices and legal terminology.
  • Proven examples of negotiating successful outcomes on complex or high value transactions.
  • Degree in a technical field or relevant discipline preferred. Supply chain experience is an asset.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills in English.
