The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Processing Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role will involve contributing to the next generation of Earth observation missions, focusing on the development of advanced signal processing algorithms.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior SAR Processing Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating innovative signal processing algorithms to enhance SAR performance, including resolution and swath width;
- Designing and refining high-quality SAR processor models and prototypes using best practices in software development;
- Conducting trade-off studies to ensure algorithm feasibility on actual hardware;
- Diagnosing and resolving signal processing errors in SAR imagery;
- Performing system-level analyses and developing models to assess system performance;
- Improving image quality through effective solutions;
- Executing calibration plans for SAR missions;
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define SAR processing requirements;
- Documenting complex algorithms and technical performance in clear reports;
- Mentoring junior team members to foster their development.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field;
- 8 years of experience in an engineering or technical environment, or 4 years with a relevant postgraduate degree;
- 6 or more years of experience with complex signal processing systems;
- Strong understanding of high-speed data analysis and transmission principles;
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Desired:
- Postgraduate degree in a field related to complex signal processing;
- Familiarity with SAR remote sensing and system design;
- Understanding of satellite-based SAR payload design;
- Experience with modern software development methodologies;
- Knowledge of algorithm implementation on FPGA;
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies in the remote sensing domain.
