Your responsibilities and tasks:

GEA Frozen Foods has an exciting opportunity for Project Manager. Reporting to the Project Execution Director, this position is located in our Richmond, BC office.
Project Manager will lead project teams which are responsible for the successful and timely completion of projects.

The Project Manager executes a project while maintaining or increasing profitability of the contract by managing the project scope, schedule, quality, changes and risk management plan, while always striving to achieve customer satisfaction the project life cycle.

This position is GEA's representative to the customer and will directly interface with the customer throughout all project phases.

The Project Manager provides a clear plan for execution, communication, promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and problem solving for all stakeholders.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage projects according to the GEA Project Management Guidelines and Practice
  • Direct the execution of a project through all project phases from sales handover to commissioning and project close down
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the project, ensuring the optimal results by maintaining the detailed project budget and cash flow.
  • Responsible for managing the Key Performance Indicators
  • Direct communication of the project team to maximize efficiency in coordination and to ensure accuracy and completeness of information transmitted.
  • Demonstrate and promote a strong culture of ownership within the project team in meeting the project objectives
  • Build and maintain project schedules by assembling work breakdowns and monitoring the progress of engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning, and taking corrective action where necessary to ensure the project health.
  • Responsible for completion of phase gate reviews and reporting of project status
  • Responsible for completion of projects according to scope, budget, quality and schedule
  • Responsible for the stakeholder management and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that site work is defined, planned, and coordinated with the Project Execution Director
  • Responsible for Claim Management & Change order management
  • Perform Risk Management to mitigate and minimize project risks
  • Capture and evaluate Lessons Learned during the entire project life cycle
  • Create Procurement plan with supply chain to schedule fabrication and component receipt to meet project schedule.
  • Creates and maintains the project resource plan and communicates resource needs to relevant line managers
  • Ensures project documentation and correspondence is stored on company servers according to GEA requirements

Your profile and qualifications:

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience working in a project manager role.
  • Understanding of process technology, preferable in hygienic food or beverage processing.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Computer literate and proficient in MS Office products including MS Project
  • Knowledge in Power BI is an asset
  • Working knowledge in MS SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently as required.
  • PMP designation is considered an asset
  • Must be selfmotivated and be able to lead by example.
  • Must be able and willing to travel. (Approximately 10% of the time)
  • Onsite experience or field service such as construction and commissioning are preferred.
