The Director of Human Resources, Industrial Services Canada, oversees the development and execution of pillar focused people strategies that align and support the overall Canadian Industrial Services business strategy. Accountable for leading and developing a team of Human Resources professionals and partnering closely with Center of Excellence (COE) leadership teams across the Human Resources department to drive and deliver innovative and value-added solutions for the business.

- Leads the development and execution of HR strategic initiatives in alignment with business unit strategic plan;
- Represents the Canada HR function as part of the Industrial Services HR Leadership Team;
- Strategically works with business leaders to develop and deploy effective employee lifecycle planning including workforce planning, talent acquisition, and employee development to meet current and future business needs and provide best in class HR services;
- Develops and leads programs to understand and improve employee engagement and employee retention, and reduce turnover;
- In partnership with COE leadership, identifies and prioritizes the needs of the business unit related to the HR centers of excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Development);
- Partners with the Director of Labor Relations and LOB with collective bargaining negotiations and collective agreement interpretation and administration;
- Leads and develops a team of HR Business Partners and HR Generalists;
- Point of escalation for complex employee relations issues. Ensures effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees. Reducing legal risk and insurance regulatory compliance;
- Partners with legal department as required;
- Leverages knowledge of HR best practices / industry trends to deliver best in class HR programs and services.
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or related field;
- 8+ years' of professional Human Resources experience providing consultative and strategic support to organizational leaders on a broad range of human resource issues;
- 4+ years' experience supporting a Canadian workforce with front line, hourly workforce;
- 2+ years' experience leading and managing a team of HR professionals preferred;
- Experience working in Industrial Services, Oil & Gas Services, Construction, or similar industries preferred;
- Previous experience in Labour Relations including union negotiation experience preferred;
- CPHR designation preferred;
- Proven track record of partnering with operations leaders;
- Experience with conflict resolution, must have sound judgment, ability to balance business needs with the role of employee; strong influencing skills, experience managing multiple priorities and projects;
- Possess a solution oriented, strategic approach to problem solving, strong business acumen, strong change management skills, effective coaching skills, consulting, presentation/public speaking skills, project management, business acumen;
- Ability to travel as business demands require up to 30% of the time.
