Company Description

The West Nipissing General Hospital was built in 1977 and boasts a clean, modern facility, with over 100 beds in operation at any given time. The Hospital operates a 24/7 Emergency Department serviced by General Practitioners, visiting Surgeons, Anesthetists, and Internists.
The West Nipissing General Hospital hosts regular cardiology, urology, nephrology, otolaryngology, endoscopy, surgical lumps & bumps and psychiatry clinics and consultation visits by specialists. There exists an excellent referral relationship between West Nipissing General Hospital and the Regional Health Centre in North Bay and Health Sciences North in Sudbury. The West Nipissing General Hospital is the sponsoring agency for a community Mental Health and Addictions Program.
The West Nipissing General Hospital collaborates with the Ontario Telemedicine Network to provide consultations and follow-up visits with specialists. In addition, Ontario Telemedicine Network hosts numerous education events for both staff members and physicians. The West Nipissing General Hospital offers a satellite Oncology program through the Regional Cancer Program of Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre. Chemotherapy services are provided to the residents of West Nipissing

**Job Description**:
The Human Resources Specialist - Abilities Claims Management is responsible for the coordination of the disability management, return to work and accommodation processes for employees who are absent due to occupational and non-occupational illness or injury and works in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and budgetary allocations. This position will also play an integrate role in the hospitals Health and Safety team.

**Job Status**: Permanent, Full-Time

**Hours of work**: Days, 37.5 hours per week

**Work Location**: On-site
**Salary Range**: $37.92 to $39.85 per hour

This position offers an attractive benefit insurance plan, as well as membership in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP). Comprehensive benefit plan is 100% paid by the employer.

**Qualifications**:
**Education & Experience**:

- Post secondary education in a related field including Human Resources, Disability Management or a health-related discipline.
- Certification as a Certified Disability Management Professional or Certified Return to Work Coordinator preferred
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or equivalent an asset
- Joint Occupational Health & Safety Certification an asset

**Skills Required**:

- Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Computer proficiency is a requirement
- Professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
