ABOUT THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY

Our Trenton location is looking for a Project Coordinator. This is an 18-month contract. Under the guidance of the Facility Manager, the Project Coordinator will provide field-based oversight and coordination for projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and must hold a valid Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance or have the ability to obtain the required clearance as required for this position.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist with maintaining project documentation such as project budgets, project schedules, scope statements, project plans and project safety documentation. Conduct on-site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, quality of work, and compliance with project specifications. Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks. Address any field-related issues promptly and proactively, escalating to the Facility Manager and taking corrective actions as needed to maintain project timelines and quality standards. Coordinate Quality inspections. Coordinate activities to correct any quality concerns, action corrective measures, or resolve non-conformance items in an effort to ensure customer satisfaction. Perform job showings with approved subcontractors, assisting with the RFQ process and award, coordination of awarded projects and monitoring of project percentage complete. Manage a subcontractor pool, continuously seeking to expand the pre-qualified subcontractors, Assist with reporting on Key Result Areas and other Divisional requirements including tracking, analysing, and trending of project costs. Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Escort subcontractors onsite as required. Other duties as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1 – 3 years' experience in similar role Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role, with a focus on field-based oversight

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work with strict timelines in a fast-paced team environment. Problem-solving mind set with the ability to make decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts. Understanding of safety regulations and commitment to promoting a culture of safety on construction sites. Knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Projects, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook Must possess strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of customers, employees, and management. Basic knowledge of building systems and their operation.
