The Position -_


An opportunity currently exists for a
Purchasing Assistant, with a competitive hourly rate plus overtime, benefits (after a probationary period) and RRSP Matching (after one year).

The position is based in Nisku, Alberta.

The responsibility of the
Purchasing Assistantis to purchase material and shop issue fabrication drawing packages for all in-house projects.

This includes the following:

  • Prepare material lists to send out to suppliers for quote.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers for material.
  • Prepare IFC drawing packages including material cutlists, construction drawings, stock transfers and other project documentation to the shops.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of similar experience; ideally within a Structural Steel environment.
  • Excellent computer skills;
    Tekla and Fabtrol experience is a strong asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working independently and handling high volume work demands.
  • Ability to multi task on various projects at the same time and manage the priorities.
  • Should be extremely professional, reliable and organized.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship across all levels.
