Job Summary

MRC Global is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Expeditor to join our team. As an Expeditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient processing of purchase orders, communicating with vendors, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expedite purchase orders to identify potential delays and communicate with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and update purchase order ship dates in our system to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Communicate order status to the Sales Team and provide updates on expediting progress.
  • Act as a liaison between the Sales Team and vendors to resolve expediting issues.
  • Prepare and distribute expediting status reports and other ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Learn and adapt to new business processes and serve as a resource to others.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers through written and verbal communication.
  • Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed to meet business demands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; experience in process evaluation or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, with emphasis on Excel and/or Access; ability to learn MRC-specific software and other web-based applications.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to multitask and work independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including written correspondence and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
