POSITION OVERVIEW


Reporting to the CHRO, the Assistant Vice President, Talent Management is a leadership role that is responsible for shaping and ensuring the effective deployment of the organization's talent strategies, programs, and processes.

The incumbent is accountable for having a deep understanding of business strategies, evolving employee needs, as well as industry trends & best practices, and aligning the evolution of talent strategies and programs in all areas related to workplace planning, succession management, employee experience and training and development.

The role is responsible to manage a team of approximately 15 resources specialized in talent management.


CHALLENGES TO BE MET- Work with the CHRO and other members of the senior management team in developing talent management strategies that align with strategic objectives for the organization to have the right talent at the right time, high employee engagement levels, while providing a world-class employee experience.- Responsible for a Center of expertise whose mandate is to support the organization in developing and deploying robust programs and processes related to workforce planning, new employee integration training and development, performance management, employee engagement, recognition, career development and succession management that align with organization goals.- Lead, engage and coach a team of 15 specialized and high-performing individuals to deliver on multiple talent priorities with efficiency.- Ensure active and on-going monitoring of talent trends and industry best practices, while having the right internal continuous employee listening strategies and practices for proactive evolution of talent programs and employee experience redesign.- Support the CHRO in building different presentations and documents for executive and Board levels to position new strategies or to report on various talent indicators.- Is accountable, in collaboration with the HR business partnering team, for the successful deployment of all talent programs and processes throughout the organization by ensuring a global perspective of the change and challenges to deploy.- Responsible to set and monitor the right talent metrics to ensure that talent programs and processes are providing the right results and behaviors and adjust swiftly program designs if needed.- Stay abreast of key developments in the talent management sector and use this knowledge to direct and influence.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


The Associate Vice President, Talent Management is an adept at knowing how to navigate and positively influence an organization cross functionally.

Required skills, experiences and qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Significant team leadership capabilities, with remote management experience, and with track record of delivering results through others.
  • Strategic thinking with a demonstrated ability to translate business priorities into talent implications and robust strategies.
  • 15 years of relevant experience in human resources, talent management and/or organizational development, with a minimum of 5 years leading a talent center of expertise.
  • Minimum 7 years of people management experience. Prior experience in managing leaders (i.e. second-level management) is an asset.
  • Excellent executive level communications and the ability to construct the right storytelling to position or influence the direction of the organization's talent agenda.
  • Demonstrated ability in influencing and managing multiple stakeholders, across business lines and levels.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to lead a high performing team.
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of talent trends and dynamics in the industry.
  • Proficient with a Human Capital Management (HCM) system such as Workday and Microsoft Suite Office.
