The Executive Assistant (EA) provides confidential administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of
Directors. This position involves the preparation of complex, confidential documents and the coordination and
administration of operations of the CEO's office. The EA is required to complete work assignments within deadlines,
sometimes at short notice, and must be highly organized, flexible, have excellent communication, relational and people
skills, and be able to complete complex assignments. The EA provides leadership and coaching to the team of EAs that
support members of the Executive Leadership Council.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Completion of postsecondary education in office administration through a business school or college
(combinations of education and experience may be considered)

  • Knowledge of the provincial health care system Board governance and the mandate of the Northern Health
Region

  • Knowledge and familiarity with northern health issues, culture, and population served
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Five (5) years' experience in directly related position preferred
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Basic computer problem solving skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of office methods and procedures and office equipment
  • Knowledge of Outlook Scheduling System would be an asset
  • Accurate word processing at 60 words per minute (typing test will be required)
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset, preferably Cree, Dene or Michif
  • Respects and promotes a culturally diverse population
  • Satisfactory employment record required
