As a Manager, Finance, your work will have a big impact in creating synergies at Intact Financial Corporation. The Financial Operations function provides guidance on Financial Operational accounting and operational projects while functioning as the liaison between various internal and external stakeholders.

As a member of the Financial Operational management team, the successful candidate leads the team on all aspects of accounting, treasury operations, risk management and financial analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing banking and merchant relationships, and transformation to support our financial objectives. Being autonomous, proactive with effective communication and organizational skills are essential to this role. You will supervise, coach and mentor staff.

What youâll do here:

  • Manage all areas of banking operations accounting, compliance, and reconciliation processes

  • Lead financial operations projects liaising with various business stakeholders, including the cash management and general ledger phases of an ERP project life cycle

  • Collaborate with various internal teams for review of process & procedures to support transformation efforts

  • Approve electronic payments. Ensure proper controls in place to adequately address relevant risks

  • Ensure processes are documented and optimized within the department and that proper controls are in place

  • Manage various internal and external audits, business continuity plan updates and the unclaimed property program

  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, merchant service, external and internal auditors

  • Direct, assist and coach employees to help them reach their full potential and ensure adequate succession at all levels

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorâs degree with a CPA/CA designation.

  • Minimum 5 yearsâ experience in leading and/or managing a team.

  • Knowledge of P&C insurance industry - asset

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Can work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong analytical skills, insight, and discipline

  • Leadership skills, team player, independent and handle ambiguity
