Job Description

Our Operations Systems team is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and professional individual to join the team as a Technical Process Analyst. Operations Systems is a dynamic, high-tech, high-energy group closely aligned with the real-time operation of Alberta's electrical grid and energy market. We monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and integrate changes across multiple functional areas, with a singular purpose to provide real time situational awareness and decision support tools to system controllers and market stakeholders.

Alberta's energy market is undergoing an unprecedented era of change and growth. The Operations Systems department plays a key role in the real time operation of the market, facilitating the energization of generation projects by ensuring new projects are modelled in the necessary tools, and participating in the development and release of the software applications used to operate the grid and market.

  • You have demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills that integrate critical thinking and sound judgement in high-pressure real-time scenarios.

  • You have high personal accountability and find it intuitive to place attention on priority and high-value tasks.

Accountabilities include:

  • Analyze key processes to determine improvement opportunities.

  • Develop and enhance processes, procedures, and tools through engagement with stakeholders.

  • Lead the development or modification of documentation for new or updated processes, and work with stakeholders to define the maintenance schedule for such documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with AESO rules and standards.

  • Support resourcing and time management by participating in work breakdown, time estimation, and schedule development for projects and base load work.
