Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales Engineering to join our team. This individual contributor role is pivotal in driving technical sales efforts and ensuring our clients receive the highest level of technical support and expertise. While the primary focus of this role is on pre-sales activities, the Director of Sales Engineering will also engage in post-sales activities with specific accounts assigned to them. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of our product offerings and will play a crucial role in the sales process, acting as the bridge between our sales, product and engineering teams. This position has the potential to evolve into a leadership role, overseeing a team of Sales Engineers as the company grows.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the sales team to identify and understand customer needs.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Develop and deliver technical proposals.
  • Collaborate with clients to design customized solutions.
  • Provide hands-on support during implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback to the product development team.
  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and support teams.
  • Participate in the development of sales strategies.
  • Engage in post-sales support for specific accounts.
  • Address technical issues post-implementation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve sales engineering processes.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and mentor junior team members.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with other companies to enhance our product offerings and expand market reach.
  • Prepare to take on team management responsibilities as the company scales.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales engineering or technical sales, preferably in event technology or SaaS.
  • Proven track record of supporting complex sales processes and closing deals.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to communicate complex concepts.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CRM and Marketing automation platforms.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in event technology, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • General Marketing tech knowledge a plus
