PAL Aerospace is seeking a Vice President - Aerospace Programs to join our dynamic team in St. John's, NL. Given the global nature of our operations, we are also flexible on location in Halifax, NS, and Toronto, ON for the preferred candidate.

The ideal candidate will lead our aerospace programs from conception through execution and have a proven track record in managing complex aerospace projects, a deep understanding of aerospace technologies and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to success. In this role, you will require strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the aerospace industry along with playing a key role in driving PAL Aerospace's global growth and maintaining high-quality service standards within the various projects that they tackle day by day.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the planning, execution and delivery of aerospace programs ensuring alignment with the company goals and client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure annual budgets and performance targets are met or exceeded as well as maintaining and delivering on the stated operational KPIs, profits and margins.
  • Primary point of contact for client requests as well as escalating issues with the Chief Operating Officer of PAL Aerospace.
  • Be the primary leadership point of contact for the Business Development teams - providing technical, cost, schedule, and feasibility analysis support as well as proposal writing inputs for all new business opportunities and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee risk management and mitigation strategies to ensure program success.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure program milestones are met.
  • Lead the coordination, budgeting, and change management for all In Service Support programs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on program statuses and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with appropriate internal subject matter experts, at all levels of the organization.
  • Define and report on deliverables, milestones, and implementation to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the contracts and liaise with finance to ensure accurate program tracking and billing.
  • Lead and develop team members, foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.


Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Business, Program Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in aerospace program management is preferred, with 10+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale aerospace projects and delivering results.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Past experience in customer negotiations will be a critical skill set.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with employees and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under high pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
