About You:

You will have responsibility is to deliver, design and develop incredibly engaging training that will stimulate trainees as well as create other training assets to help keep the knowledge alive. Training will be focused on customer service, operational procedures and internal systems. The Training Specialist will ensure the learning content and associated activities are current and accurate as well as delivered effectively.

In this role, you’ll get to experience:

  • Liaise with managers to determine training needs and schedule training sessions
  • Update and maintain training materials, policies, procedures, and manuals as well as assist in the preparation and distribution of training documentation and other support materials.
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.
  • Create course catalogues and draft training communications, reports, and statistical summaries.
  • Support and mentor new employees.
  • Keep attendance and other training records.
  • Conduct evaluations to identify areas of improvement.
  • Work to keep training programs vibrant and entertaining in order to engage employees and trainees.
  • Provide online and conference call training session for offsite employees.
  • Prepares hard copy training materials and presentations for employees and with the approval of management.
  • Create monitoring strategies to ensure that employees are performing job duties according to training.
  • Create at-a-glance support documents to supplement existing workflows & procedures.
  • Deliver in office and virtual training programs ensuring that learning objectives are fully achieved.
  • Support department projects and identify ways to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Support and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental processes
  • Develop ongoing training plan for post launch including training curriculum, training courses, recommended training environment, audience analysis and delivery approach by audience
  • Responsible for design and development of training required to support Client Solution Officers, including learning objectives, understanding Service Centre needs, and determining required support material and systems training
  • Provide in-depth and up-to-date knowledge

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (Adult Education, Training, Human Resources, or Business) or a combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of experience in a training role in a world-class customer service environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent at listening, making people feel heard and valued.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong training, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite including PowerPoint for the purpose of producing training materials and presentations.
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills as well as the ability to be an active listener.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills along with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Previous instructional design experience is considered an asset
