An industry leader and pillar of the fresh produce industry has a terrific opportunity for a Vice President of Sales. This key position will play a pivotal role in driving sales strategy for both commodity and value-added product lines, and will lead a high-performing team. The VP of Sales will collaborate closely with the executive management team, align sales efforts to achieve company priorities, goals, and pipeline growth targets.
Responsibilities will encompass various facets of sales, including contract negotiations and management, digital footprint management, brand building, lead generation, PR, and product sales. Additionally, as this incredible company continues to expand, the VP will be responsible for scaling the sales team to meet growing demands. This role demands not only strong sales and account management skills but also the ability to lead and inspire a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sales activities, customer relationships, and overseeing the sale of their quality products.

Take a player-coach role by personally managing strategy and selling a portfolio of accounts and sales targets while leading the sales team by example.
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share for our National product offerings.
Ensure sales teams prompt and accurate response to customer inquiries, orders, and requests to position the company as leading customer service supplier.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and stay ahead in the vegetable industry.
Develop and own annual Sales plan and strategy, and build and manage a high-performing sales team.
Key role in senior management team that drives collaboration across entire team. Senior team includes production, harvesting, operations, processing, accounting and all support areas.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the sales department to align sales strategic and tactical plans to deliver on company priorities, goals, and targets for pipeline growth.
Work with Analytics and Marketing team in utilizing market research, analyzing data, and evaluating competitors' strategies and positioning, providing recommendations for counterstrategies.
Provide coaching, guidance, and support to the sales team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and achievement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to maintain high sales team motivation and productivity.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the sales team's knowledge and skills.
Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective sales techniques and strategies.
Effectively communicate the value proposition of their products, highlighting their quality and suitability for customer needs.
Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to contribute to new product development and improvement efforts.
Inventory and Production Management:

Collaborate with the production, processing and harvesting team to plan and manage product inventory levels and production schedules to meet customer demand plans.
Maintain awareness of product availability and lead times to effectively manage customer expectations.
Requires travel to growing/production regions and processing facilities to work collaboratively with entire company team.
Bachelor’s Degree in General Business, Supply Chain Management, Sales/Marketing or applicable field required or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
Proven experience in sales and account management, preferably within the produce industry or related sectors.
Experience with successfully leading a high performing sales and/or marketing team.
