Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Human Resources (AVP, HR and CHRO), the Director, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Total Rewards (TR), (the "Director"), is the senior leader overseeing human resources information systems and total rewards strategy at Sheridan. The Director provides leadership, oversight and guidance to the HRIS and Total Rewards teams and has senior accountability for the following functions: HRIS, Compensation, Job Evaluation, Benefits, and Pension. The incumbent oversees transformative HR projects and change initiatives with corporate-wide scope to support Sheridan in meeting its vision and related long-term strategic goals.


The Director leads process improvement initiatives and ensures processes are in place to maintain compliance with legislative, regulatory and contract terms.



Providing senior leadership and strategic direction and expert advice on all HRIS and TR activities at Sheridan;
Leading HR projects and goals aligned with, and in support of, long term organizational strategy. Fostering senior leadership and collaborative stakeholder engagement in projects
Providing strategic direction, long-range planning and operational leadership for the HRIS and Total Rewards portfolios;
Building, leading and empowering a management team to deliver high level service to all client groups;
Accountable overseeing the operational budget of the portfolio and financial resources by planning, developing and monitoring fiscal resources
Working collaboratively as a key member of the HR Senior Leadership Team to create and execute an effective overall service delivery model for the Human Resources function;
Identifying optimal strategy for meeting business needs and developing business and project plans to address priorities;
Working with business and academic units to develop and implement the strategic goals.
You have sound understanding of project management and change management principles and tools and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, balance and manage multiple complex and competing demands.


You have superlative presentation and influencing skills with an ability to influence at all levels and obtain buy-in when diverse needs and competing priorities exist and can clearly communicate complex information verbally and in writing across multiple levels.


You have the skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse student and staff population as well as a proven commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion.


You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized and planning and have the ability to integrate multiple streams of information, prioritize and track multiple projects to meet a demanding workload and keep things running smoothly.


4-year Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Studies or Business (equivalencies to be considered)
~ Project Management certification is desired
~9-years progressive HR experience, including 4 years of experience in a leadership capacity with HR projects or functions
~ Experience managing multiple projects or initiatives, concurrently - including mid-large scale with multiple stakeholders
~ Solid technical knowledge and experience in portfolio areas: HRIS, job evaluation, compensation, pension and benefits services
~ HR experience in the academic, post-secondary or public sector is preferred
~ HRIS, Financial Information Systems, key performance system metrics, dashboards and KPIs) is considered an asset
