We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Corporate Controller to join our client's team. As the Corporate Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment. From managing monthly financial reporting and analysis to leading budgeting and forecasting initiatives, the Corporate Controller will be instrumental in driving financial excellence and supporting organizational growth
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Perform routine monthly closing tasks, including accruals for various expenses such as car allowance, equipment leases, and professional fees.
Prepare monthly financial statements and analyze variances with internal commentary.
Conduct regular cash flow analysis and maintain related records.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and file tax returns.
Financial Planning and Management:
Aid in financial projections, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Manage full cycle accounting processes, including monthly closing of financial statements and preparation of monthly financial reporting packages.
Lead the development and implementation of annual projections/forecasts, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Conduct profitability analysis and variance analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
Audit and Compliance:
Assist in compiling quarterly board packages and annual audit documentation.
Prepare annual insurance applications and other regulatory filings.
Coordinate external audits and collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial records.
Process Improvement and Team Management:
Manage accounting processes and suggest improvements.
Utilize practical experience with Accounting ERP systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Supervise team members and effectively manage stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee payroll reconciliations and health and safety committee duties.
Communication and Collaboration:
Collaborate with management to document accounting controls.
Monitor management fees, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Assist with special projects and support the finance team as needed.
Qualifications:
CPA designation required, with experience in real estate accounting preferred.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Yardi Voyager 7S and Microsoft Office suite.
Self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
In-depth experience with full-cycle accounting, including monthly financial closing and reporting.
Proven track record of developing and executing annual projections/forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans.
Strong team management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Practical expertise with Accounting ERP systems.
Experience with external audit processes.
Proficiency in profitability analysis and variance analysis techniques.
