The Opportunity:

The procurement coordinator will be responsible for sourcing and managing the purchasing and oversight of delivery and supply chain logistics for the fixtures & materials related to construction of JD stores. The objective of this role is to support the Projects Team in delivering the new store builds as part of an aggressive national rollout. The Property Procurement Coordinator will play a key part in supporting the wider Property team to ensure administrative tasks, planning, organizing, and supplier relationships are maintained. The successful applicant must be able to operate independently whilst also working closely with our Project Managers. The role will require some travel domestically for fixture kit reviews, and if required to assist with new store openings.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase order issuance and record costs to reconcile against the CAPEX budgets.
  • Ensure delivery and installation schedules for the project rollouts are adhered to.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings where possible.
  • Review store layouts and fixture requirements to order with all suppliers.
  • Monitor and track international shipments from fixture and IT suppliers.
  • Audit the landed fixture kits and prepare for sequential delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. This includes multiple suppliers for similar items to ensure options for unforeseen supply issues.
  • Manage the shipping expectations for all purchases with relevant freight companies.
  • Coordinate deliveries of all purchasing to JD Sports partner warehouses or direct to site shipments.
  • Manage logistics of Projects Team assets including equipment, materials, and fixtures.


KPIs

  • Delivery of all supply items on time (as per new store program dates)
  • Delivery of all supply items on (or under) budget
  • Finalise all accounts and invoices for each new store project
  • Procurement cost management – avoidance of supplies at higher rates due to poor procurement management
  • Supplier list – ensure a secure supply chain and avoid reliance on minimal number of suppliers

  • Always exercise a duty of care and due diligence.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS Policies and Procedures
  • Be responsible for complying with all legislative requirements of the company’s Safety System & Strategy and being aware of updates to information, policies or legislation

Requirements

  • Experience with supply chain management and sourcing essential
  • International & domestic shipping, customs and freight forwarding experience essential
  • Warehouse logistics experience preferred
  • Retail operations & knowledge of BOH/stock room practices preferred
  • Shopfitting and/or fixturing experience an advantage
  • Sourcing of building materials and construction background beneficial
  • Ability to liaise and build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels both internally and with external suppliers
