POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Benefits Associate will assist Advisors in building and sustaining strong client relationships. This role involves providing direct client support and education, advocating for clients, and ensuring their needs are met. With a primary objective of providing comprehensive client care, the Benefits Associate will also work in collaboration with internal operations, Advisors and carriers to help manage client records, prepare necessary documentation, and enhance service delivery.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Key Objectives

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction with every effort to exceed expectations.
  • Plan, organize and facilitate the preparation and completion of client renewals. Coordinate with key stakeholders to manage timelines and ensure all necessary documentation and processes are completed accurately.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to client inquiries, explain benefits options, and facilitate the resolution of any issues.
  • Assist in negotiating pricing with benefit carrier as required to secure the most favorable terms for clients.
  • Help Advisors prepare for finalist meetings and assist the Advisor in producing benefit plan options and proposals for prospective clients.
  • Management of large client files with attention to detail, ensuring that all client information is accurately recorded, securely stored, and easily accessible for reference.
  • Provide accurate and thorough answers to client requests and questions demonstrating a deep understanding of the benefit plans and the ability to provide clear and helpful information.
  • Communicate with carriers through client issues as required, ensuring that all concerns are handled promptly and effectively. This involves maintaining good relationships with carriers and being proactive in finding solutions to any problems that arise.
  • Ensure the client experience is delivered upon from start to finish of client life cycle. This includes coordinating various aspects of the client relationship, managing expectations, and providing consistent and high-quality service throughout.
  • Assist in training Benefits Administrators, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the overall proficiency and performance of the team.


Reporting & Analytics

  • Review and analyze plan pricing, design, administration.
  • Provide recommendations to the advisor.
  • Plan, organize and facilitate market studies, new plan implementations, plan amendments, carrier changes, and AOR’s.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of benefits experience required
  • Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation, or willing to obtain
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Ability to take initiative and a pro-active approach to work
  • Advanced knowledge and application of MS suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Enthusiastic, respectful, high professional and uncompromised confidentiality
  • Ability to organize, prioritize in a fast work environment
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset
  • Located in London, ON is an asset
