The Eastern Regional Account Manager position focuses on securing business from prospective opportunities and current accounts in order to achieve KTI Limited’s sales and revenue objectives. The Account Manager position handles all aspects of the process sales, provides technical and administrative product information, produces and delivers presentations/demonstrations, manages the distribution channel, has responsibility for pricing and quotations, and acts as a liaison between vendor and client. This position is accountable for meeting company growth objectives through new customer development and sales growth optimization of existing accounts within the established geographic area and will be ultimately responsible for maximizing annual sales and profits, developing and implementing sales strategies, and coordinating sales efforts of local distributor channels. This position requires strong communication skills and a high level of sales experience at all levels within the utility.


Territory – Eastern Canada, Ontario

General Responsibilities:


  • Generate revenue in the assigned territory and achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Develop and manage strategic partners including distribution, direct accounts, and consultants
  • Represent the company in industry associations such as AWWA events and rural water conferences
  • Sales Management: Forecast revenue projections and frequent report-outs on territory performance
  • Distribution Management: Establish goals and expectations for distribution partners
  • Executive Selling: be part of a complex sales team with objectives of securing multi-million dollar board level transactions, including; outsourcing, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Design-Build-Run-Transfer turnkey installations
  • Support distribution with technical details related to AMR/AMI Sales
  • Provide support for demonstration of products and solutions
  • Oversee the sales process for territory
  • Deliver high level or detailed AMR/AMI/Meter presentations effectively
  • Produce and deliver material and presentations for meetings, training and demonstrations
  • Provide support, and in many cases, lead RFP/RFI opportunities
  • Utilize NetSuite ERM and Microsoft Office applications
  • Any other duties which may be assigned to you from time to time by your manager


Product Knowledge/Training


  • Fluency with all aspects of all Sensus products to provide: Emergency Troubleshooting in the field and Effective Sales Strategy
  • Fluency with RF knowledge pertaining to FlexNet and Competitive systems
  • Develop/Deliver training programs to Distribution and Field Sales on all Sensus related products: Training Material, User Guides, Hands-on
  • Provide ad-hoc training to customers as needed to fill gaps from formal training by Sensus Training Group



Education and Experience:


  • Minimum of five years sales experience with products that are considered technical or complex
  • Sales experience in municipal, contractor, or distributor markets a plus, especially with metering and AMI products
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or Marketing is preferred. BS in an Engineering field or the equivalent will be viewed as favourable.
  • Must have the ability, willingness and desire for regular overnight travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must be located within the defined sales territory
  • Ability to understand the technical aspects of water measurement, electronic instrumentation and AMI networks
  • Ability to operate Microsoft Windows applications and utilize SalesForce.com
  • Detailed knowledge of market/customer
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Salary is based on experience
