Job Location: This position can be based out of any of our branch locations in Alberta or British Columbia.


Position Overview: The goal of this dynamic role is to help achieve Cooper Equipment Rentals' vision for the expansion of our Pump and Power Division in Western Canada. We are seeking an experienced leader in the Pump and Power Industry who can build a high performing team, and collaborate with stakeholders across the company to deliver tangible business results. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and expertise to implement a strategic sales approach that strengthens our existing client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across Western Canada.


What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a business strategy focused on driving growth and delivering exceptional customer service for both new and existing clients.
  • Cultivate and expand a diverse customer base, demonstrating strong relationship management skills.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and execute a marketing strategy aimed at increasing the Pump and Power Division's market presence in Western Canada.
  • Build and lead a diverse team of professionals including sales, operations, customer service and technical staff.
  • Assess customers' pump and power requirements, providing tailored pump or electrical system designs and equipment solutions.
  • Participate in regular business meetings to update key stakeholders on progress toward established goals and business objectives.
  • Engage in trade shows, training workshops, and networking events to build industry connections.
  • Conduct research on customers, competitors, and market conditions to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to make informed decisions on rental fleet purchases.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Travel across the region to assess the competitive landscape and uncover potential growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business leaders across various departments to ensure that the specific needs of our customers are fully addressed.


What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Pump and Power Industry, particularly in a business development, sales, operations, management or closely related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of pump and power generation equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software; familiarity with SRM software is a plus.
  • Must reside in Alberta or British Columbia and be willing to travel within Western Canada regularly.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract.
  • An educational background in business, marketing, engineering or a related field is an asset (relevant work experience will also be considered an asset).
  • A demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business development and sales growth strategies, with a proven track record of success.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly results-driven with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong negotiation skills and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders and departments.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety, and familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the industry and for the growth potential of the Pump and Power Division in Western Canada
