Senior Controls System Designer

As the Senior Controls System Designer, you will be a key contributor to the Ditanu team designing robotics & automation systems for world class organizations. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, design development, communication with internal project stakeholders, vendors, and various trades in order to ensure the project is completed as planned and on budget. 


Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations with respect to electrical & controls engineering and machine design
  • Produce electrical and controls system designs, drawings and bills of materials for robotic & automation systems, tools, machines, equipment, and products using AutoCAD
  • Review drawings for adherence to proper drafting and electrical standards
  • Develop PLC and PC based software programs, and select, test, program and integrate leading-edge hardware and software technologies, and processes utilizing analog devices, sensors, robotics, motion, vision, laser and other controllers
  • Analyze designs in the equipment and product development process
  • Analyze the use of one or more machines to carry out sequential operations
  • Analyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards
  • Communicate all requested design changes, progress, etc. to the Controls Systems Design – Project Leader
  • Liaise with vendors for technical information and specifications
  • Liaise with fabricators, machinists, toolmakers and electricians in the completion of equipment and resolving problems
  • Create machine operation, maintenance manuals and drawing documentation
  • Integrate and debug systems in-house then commission at client sites, as well as provide training to client personnel
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned
  • Provide team technical support
  • This position requires frequent travel

Qualifications and Requirements

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 12+ years’ experience with controls systems design and programming in a custom automation environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Valid passport


Compensation

  • Salary up to $98,500 based on expertise
