Transforming the Rail Industry through Innovative Control Systems

ZTR is seeking a skilled Control Systems Developer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of complex engineering projects and products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications using object-oriented programming, industrial programming, communication protocols, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop product-centric functional PLC and HMI programs.
  • Support and maintain development throughout all stages of the CI/CD lifecycle.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements.
  • Develop and apply innovative algorithms for mechanical and electrical system controls.
  • Implement changes to existing and create new engineering designs with respect to control systems hardware and software.
  • Conduct code reviews, regression testing, end-to-end testing, debugging, and more.
  • Contribute to projects and post-deployment activities by providing technical documentation, adhering to coding standards, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Execute on-site control system and software commissioning at global rail locations.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in controls engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or relevant degrees.
  • Experience in all phases of the development life cycle.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.).
  • Profound understanding of control algorithms and design practices.
  • Knowledgeable in industrial communication protocols (Profinet, RS-232, etc.).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate to an array of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Passion for learning and keeping up to date with new technologies.
  • Ability to travel and work in industrial environments.
