Role Overview

As the Content & Communications Specialist, you will work closely with the Editorial Director and collaborate across our data and strategy teams to execute our content strategy. You will identify industry trends and breaking news, craft compelling thought leadership articles, white papers, and reports, and work in tandem with marketing to drive awareness and elevate our brand's position as a space tech thought leader.

This role is ideal for a creative, analytical, and highly organized professional with a background in content creation, technical writing, communications. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in the space tech industry.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Management

  • Identify and report on important space tech news, announcements, and trends.
  • Work with the Editorial Director to write, edit, and publish thought leadership content (e.g., expert interviews, white papers, data-driven reports, market analyses).
  • Support the editorial calendar in collaboration with the Editorial Director and Marketing Team, ensuring timely and consistent release of high-quality content.

Research & Analysis

  • Work closely with the data team to translate complex insights from our proprietary platform into clear, accessible content.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, market shifts, and new entrants in the space sector.

Collaboration & Strategy Execution

  • Collaborate with internal teams (data, strategy, marketing) to align content with broader strategic objectives.
  • Support the development of comprehensive marketing strategies, plans, and campaigns that leverage produced content for brand awareness and lead generation.

Content Distribution & Brand Elevation

  • Partner with marketing to develop social media strategies, repurpose content, and maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, webinars, or meetups to capture insights and network with key players.

Project Management & Quality Control

  • Ensure editorial integrity, factual accuracy, and consistent tone in all content.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree or specialization in space studies, aerospace engineering, or a relevant scientific/technical field is a big plus.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in content creation, journalism, or communications.
  • Familiarity with or professional experience in the space tech industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • In lieu of a degree and professional experience, demonstrated contributions and interest/passion for the space tech industry. This can include a blog, newsletter, etc...

Skills & Competencies:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into engaging, accessible narratives.
  • Excellent communication skills with a variety of demographics including leadership, general public, clientele, etc...
  • Organized self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, organizational tools like ClickUp, and basic programs like Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
