**_Metrolinx _**is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Brand Identity & Creative office is seeking a Content Specialist who oversees all internal and external marketing content initiatives across multiple platforms, marketing & communication channels and formats to support the Metrolinx corporate and divisional objectives, our Creating Connections brand strategy and standards, and to ensure Metrolinx content is delivered in a timely, accurate and consistent fashion.
**What will I be doing?**:
- Maps out a content and communications strategy that supports all divisional marketing initiatives to other channels, by:
- Monitoring the public perception of Metrolinx and its service brands and recommending actions and communications initiatives to maintain a positive image for the organization and its services
- Identifying and translating industry insights to develop compelling creative content themes/topics
- Establishing key metrics for customer engagement (e.g. transactions, website and social media traffic growth, key search engine keyword rankings, customer satisfaction, employee advocacy, etc.) to measure and respond to performance
- Developing and maintaining a detailed content calendar that reflects both marketing and communications initiatives, where applicable
- Managing editorial schedules and monitoring against deadlines
- Integrating content activities within traditional Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) marketing campaigns
- Acts as the ‘chief storyteller’ to deliver the voice of the brand, by:
- Driving customer engagement and adding value to the customer and community experience by developing and delivering engaging, creative, and relevant content that is on brand, consistent (i.e. style, tone of voice), and optimized for user search results and positive user experience across all content channels
- Preparing content (e.g. news releases, annual reports, backgrounders, articles, whitepapers, social media / blog posts, etc.) that highlights and aligns with the divisions key messaging strategy
- Developing presentations and creating marketing, communications, and general content (e.g. newsletters, website content, social media platforms, and marketing communications sales material and collateral)
- Developing creative concepts, headlines and supporting copy that enhance Metrolinx (and sub-brands) various Marketing initiatives
- Being able to write in multiple voices, depending on brand and audience focus
- Assists in the management and oversight of content assets (e.g. digital and photography archives, audio-visual materials) to maintain digital asset management system (DAM)
- Works collaboratively with the Metrolinx Communications and Public Affairs Team to align with broader organizational branding and messaging strategies
- Collaborates with cross functional teams (i.e. I & IT, Customer Care, Business development and Partnerships, CEMD Customer Experience, Brand Marketing, etc.) to deliver timely, high-quality content for all marketing programs, campaigns, activities, and initiatives
- Advises CEMD and cross functional team employees and stakeholders on public and media relations (e.g. how to interact with reporters and editors and develop opportunities for strategic media coverage)
- Builds, manages, and maintains relationships with divisional and organizational leaders and stakeholders to identify success stories, track progress, and other matters (e.g. vehicles, stations, construction and transit progress, etc.) that may be of interest to consumers and the broader public
- Monitors projects against established timelines and within budget limitations
**What skills & qualifications do I need?**:
- Completion of a degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related field - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
- Minimum six (6) years’ experience creating multi-channel content within a marketing and / or communications function
- Experience with content and communications channel optimization, brand consistency, personas, segmentation and localization, analytics, and measuring performance against expectations
- Experience working with media outlets to build and maintain media relations
